The short version
We do not set tracking cookies. We do not run advertising. We do not sell, trade, or share data. We do not maintain user accounts. Almost everything you experience on this site is static HTML served to your browser.
Data we collect directly
None. The site sets no first-party cookies and no analytics cookies. Search preferences and theme choice are stored in your browser's localStorage — they never leave your device.

Third-party services
Rendering any webpage requires loading resources from servers. Here is the complete list of third-party services this site uses and what they see.
Hosting — Cloudflare Pages
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Your browser sends standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, requested path) when it loads a page. Cloudflare retains these logs briefly for security and operational purposes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Fonts — Bunny Fonts
We serve web fonts from Bunny Fonts, a GDPR-compliant, privacy-focused alternative to Google Fonts. Bunny Fonts does not log IP addresses, does not set cookies, and is operated in the EU under GDPR.
Search — Pagefind (self-hosted)
Search is powered by Pagefind, a static search library. The index is built at deploy time and served from this same site — no search queries leave your browser. Nothing is sent to a third party when you search.
Link prefetching — instant.page
To make navigation feel instant, the site prefetches the next likely page when you hover a link. Prefetch requests go only to thegreatagnostic.com, are handled by Cloudflare like normal page views, and are easily disabled via your browser's data-saver / "lite" mode.
Analytics (not currently live)
If privacy-respecting analytics are ever added, we will use Umami — a cookieless, open-source analytics platform that anonymises IP addresses and does not use personal identifiers. The current deployment does not include Umami or any other analytics script. When it does, this page will list it clearly.
Contact form
The contact form on /contact/ transmits your name, email, and message to our form provider and forwards it by email. We use that information only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list. We do not share your email with anyone.
External links
When you follow links to other websites — Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, Internet Archive, the Secular Web — those destinations have their own privacy policies. We have no control over what they collect. Open external links in a new tab if you want to keep your session here self-contained.
Your rights
Because we hold essentially no personal data about you, there is almost nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have written to us and would like your email removed from our inbox, say so and it will be deleted.
If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may exercise those rights by contacting us.
Children
This site is aimed at a general adult audience. It does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with strict transport security (HSTS). See our security contact for reporting vulnerabilities.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the “last updated” date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be called out in a site notice.
